Sidney Crosby named Pens` CaptainWell it took an extra couple years for it to happen, but Sidney Crosby is finally Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
There's no quesiton that he's the most talented player on the team, and will likely soon be stocking his trophy cabinet with a Hart, but the question is whether or not the team is best off with him as Captain. Most team personalities are shaped by their Captains, as was the case for most real successful Captains such as Steve Yzerman and Mark Messier.
I still hear too much complaining from Crosby about cheap shots to be convinced that his personality is ready to be THE guy to look up to on that team, but I can't blame them for putting his name back in the papers and trying to sell some more season tickets right now.
