Garrioch: Lightning willing to move Richards for top 4 pick
Of course many of you will read this and
first think Bruce Garrioch = Larry Brooks = John Hadley = A monkey
throwing darts....but there may be something to this.




Keep in mind that Richards is only 27, but due $7.8m per year for
the next 4 seasons and coming off of a 70 point season.




It's my personal thought that they're asking too much, as any
team with a top 4 pick could sign a Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, or
Daniel Briere and get that kind of production for probably less
than what Richards is making AND keep their 1st round pick.

That's a hefty contract... and probably a top 4 would be overpayment simply because of the 7.8 per. I mean, he is a good player and all, but as BBZ said--there will be UFAs that can match his production for less $$$ and without giving up a pick.

But hey, it doesn't hurt to ask, right?
